If one thing is for sure, my creations are not possible without the inspiration behind them. Yet with so many outlets for inspiration, my biggest challenge as a designer is navigating through the many possibilities and arriving at a new vision. In this transient industry, with fleeting trends and ever-changing styles, the key to my designs is simplicity. While I'm always tempted by new trends, funky fabrics and crazy colors, it's hard to surpass the original "pop of color" that a framed piece of artwork can achieve. After many years decorating, I realize the enormous effort it takes to pull it all together and place those finishing touches on a project. Simply chosing which fabrics to pull, let alone deciding on the shape of a sofa, or wall color, may seem like small decisions to many. As a designer, these are the final little details which I take the time to hone in on, separating a house from a home. Before getting down to those details, first you'll need to decide where to start! No need to feel overwhelmed, you can always find a starting point in something.
